Calendula

Saturday 31 March

Lara is doing relatively well. She is now in day 4 of the chemotherapy; tomorrow will be her last. She received her second and last dosis of Vosaroxin (or placebo?) this afternoon around 5:00PM. Complete aplasie (no WBC) will be reached about two days afterwards. She will receive transfusions of red blood cells and platelets, but her leukocytes (the ones that give her protection) will have to come from her own marrow about 17 days from now if all goes well. She will remain hospitalized at least until then and probably a few days longer.

We were together for four hours. My main achievement was failing at connectivity. I tried to get the iPad connected to the hospital WiFi, but no such luck. We will have to try Monday with some help from whoever is more adroit. Sorry.

A first itch manifested itself on her back, still very faint. I applied a generous dose of Calendula emulsion. That application is really the best for Lara, but we forgot where we bought it. The tube is about the size of a deodorant stick and has Dutch printing on it. Anyone?

I cooked a meal (sort of) and listened to Bach's St. Matthew Passion, feeling a little sad.
